1. Glasgow Christmas Markets

Is Christmas really Christmas without a visit to the traditional Christmas markets? We don’t think so. The Christmas markets have officially returned to Glasgow City Centre this winter at St Enoch’s Square and George Square offering both unique festive gifts and a selection of delicious culinary treats to enjoy as you wander through the streets of Glasgow.

Celebrate the festivities with the 12 Days of Christmas Market at Loch Lomond Shores, appreciate the magical essence of Christmas with loved ones in the majestic Scottish countryside. Opening on the 12th of December until Christmas Eve, stroll through traditional market stalls featuring homemade Christmas arts and crafts, and enjoy an array of delicious street foods and mulled wine as you soak up the festive spirit on the banks of Loch Lomond. Stirling is one of our favourite places to visit during the festive period, as it adds an extra sparkle to the holiday season. 4. Santa’s Woodland Experience

Treat the little ones to a pre-Christmas adventure they won’t forget and visit Scotland’s number 1 outdoor woodland experience. Enjoy the beautiful scenic views as you explore through 14 acres of woodland in search of Santa’s hidden cabin and remember to keep your eyes peeled as you may come across some of Santa’s woodland neighbours during your travels. Santa has given his little helpers the afternoon off to spoil your little ones, treat them to free refreshments, a magical storytelling session, and take them into Santa’s secret toy room where they can see some of this years Christmas gifts. Following your tour through Santa’s toy room, the elves will board your little ones onto a magical train which will take them to meet Santa himself where they can hand over their Christmas Wishlist. 6. Pantomimes

A visit to the pantomime is a true Christmas tradition that will be sure to get you into the festive spirit as you enjoy laugh out loud comedy and classic Disney fables with your loved ones this winter. There are a variety of shows running this year for you to choose from including Aladdin at the Kings Theatre in Glasgow, Cinderella in Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre and finally Sleepin’ Cutie which is being performed at the Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling. All three shows are guaranteed to have you giggling from start to finish.

The King’s Theatre has everything you could wish for this Christmas with the return of Elaine C Smith to play Widow Twankey in this year’s Aladdin pantomime.
